In 2003 we were very fortunate to have the chance to purchase some Wente clone Chardonnay from Hyde vineyard in Carneros. This small cluster Wente clone produces a wine of great intensity and complexity. The palate is rich and sweet in pear, melon, and honeysuckle flavors and finishes with mineral tones and lively acidity. The structure and balance of this Chardonnay is maintained without the introduction of malolactic fermentation to preserve the freshness of fruit and acidity, as well as no fining or filtering.
