Tasting Notes The Bacigalupi Family has been farming in the Russian River Valley for generations. 2005 is the first vintage we were fortunate enough to source grapes from one of their vineyards. We took a tip from the old Italian farmers and decided to make a field blend from Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. Fermenting these two varietals together allows them to integrate at a young stage. The result is a wine that demonstrates the terrior of the vineyard in a harmonious blend. The wine has a deep red color, and aromas of black cherry and spicy cocoa. The tannins from this coastalinfluenced wine are sweet and concentrated and fill the mid-palate. The wine finishes with an elegant balance of flavors like blackberry, toasty vanilla and anise spice. |
