Fruit from vineyards in Sonoma contributes flavor, minerality, and complexity, while fruit from Lake County adds bright citrus notes. Grapes from the warmer Lodi appellation bring concentration to the wine, and vineyards in Monterey offer tropical aromatics and well-balanced acidity. In Santa Barbara, fruit from cooler, marine-influenced vineyards add crisp, clean minerality and balanced acidity, while inland vineyards benefit from morning coastal fog and afternoon winds, enhancing the wine’s tropical character. This lower alcohol wine is crafted with the same high-quality fruit we source from top vineyards across the state. Blending fruit from these varied growing regions throughout California results in a balanced, food-friendly wine.

Across California, the growing season began with abundant winter rainfall, followed by a cool spring. Summer temperatures varied, remaining mild in some regions and warmer in others, with an early heatwave helping to accelerate fruit ripening. This allowed us to pick the fruit at its optimal ripeness in mid-September, resulting in clusters with excellent flavor and acidity.

To preserve the wine’s fruit and natural acidity, the wine underwent a long, cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Finally, the lots are blended, taking care to balance the characteristics of each vineyard in the wine.
